I heard it right away. The quiver in her
voice. The shortness of her breath.
“Come over sweetie.” I urged.
I rushed out of bed and put on my robe.
15 minutes later she was at my door.
Her face was red and tears fell down
her cheeks.
Something was terribly
wrong.
She told me about her job.
6 months ago she was on top of the
